Developed from unique Architecta technology, CO₂TECTA has been designed and developed to counter the growing problem of detecting stowaways on cross-Channel and cross-border commercial vehicles.

Every month as many as 500 stowaways are caught attempting to illegally enter the UK via the channel tunnel alone, and with the £2,000 fine for every offence this represents a real issue for the logistics industry. The vast majority of truck drivers are innocent victims and are unaware of the stowaways until a customs search, by which time it is too late. CO₂TECTA is designed to stop this problem.

Unlike expensive handheld precision instruments, CO₂TECTA measures changes in CO₂ gas levels in the truck and communicates them to the driver via a dashboard mounted display unit. If the levels of CO₂ increase, the driver is notified in the safety of his cab from where he can contact the relevant authorities and/or base. At a cost of under £500 for a full unit, CO₂TECTA represents a low cost/high value solution to tackle a problem which is of major concern to the logistics industry.
